Scribd as the YouTube of Documents

by Tom Werner on August 25, 2008

John C. Dvorak in the current issue of PC Magazine, says very nice things about Scribd.

It’s basically a YouTube of documents.

You can upload a document (in just about any format, say, PDF) and it is viewable online in their PDF-like iPaper format.

The reader can then download that document in just about any format (say, a Word document).

The uploaded documents can public or private, and can be tagged and searched, like YouTube.

You can also copy CC ipaper@scribd.com on an e-mail with a file attachment, and the recipients will automatically receive a link to the Scribd version of the attachment. (TW)
