The CBC’s (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) technology program Spark has another interesting program this week. It is about “aspirational technology” and the future of search. Aspirational technology are all those items that we buy (or buy for others) that support a dream of who we want to be. In many cases, these gadgets sit around not being used.
Now there are recommendation engines to pick out the perfect gadget for someone, yourself included. The program features a new site called Measy that recommends stuff based on the parameters that you enter. This is the general direction of search, and the program has an interview on Hunch, the new site that answers questions based on what people like you have also answered.
Is this helpful, or does it take all the fun out of shopping? (GW)
