The Sloan Center on Aging & Work has published a report on whether organizations are aware, and prepared for, the effects of an aging workforce. This report examines:
“whether employers in today’s tough economy are gathering the information they need about their employees and their organizations’ future skill-set requirements that will help them better understand how shifts in the age makeup of the workforce might affect their organizations. “
The report indicates that nearly 70 per cent of organizations have not analyzed the demographics of their workforce. One third of organizations reported not having enough programs for recruitment and training of older workers. (RN)
