Retweeting is part of the fun of being on Twitter. It is appreciated by the person who made the original tweet, and it is a recommendation to your “followers” of a good thought that you feel they should read.

However, up to now the process of retweeting have been somewhat awkward. You need to add RT (for retweet) then the person’s name who authored the tweet, and the, often, an acknowledgement of the person who past the tweet to you. As you add these pieces, you usually bump into Twitter’s 140 character limit, forcing you to shorten the original tweet.

Twitter has tried to fix this with a new Retweet (beta) feature. You click on Retweet and Twitter does the rest, without the mess. Josh Catone of Mashable reviews this new feature, explains how to use it, and why it fixes several problems. Read the article, then try to retweet the new way. Let us know what you think. (GW)
