Presentation backchannels

by Janet Clarey on October 30, 2009

Here’s a sampling of responses from ASTD’s Big Question for October as it relates to the presentation “backchannel.” When a speaker is speaking and people are doing other things is it rude? Disrespectful? Something a speaker  should try to control? The result of bad presenting? Bad preparation? Lots of people have weighed in. My thought: you can not control the actions of others – you can only control your own reaction. So, in my opinion, that’s where the work needs to be done. How will you react? (JC)
