The Second Life Road Map

by Tom Werner on August 17, 2009

Dusan Writer blogs about Linden Lab’s Chief Product Officer Tom Hale’s road map presentation at the Second Life Community Convention.

The gist is that Second Life’s road map will include being able to use desktop tools in Second Life, being able to import objects made in outside 3-D creation tools, and in general, a sort of melding of Web (2-D) and 3-D experiences.

These are things that we sort of “know” have to happen: if we’re going to collaborate in 3-D we need to be able to use all of our tools, we need to be able to import and export 3-D content, and we need to be able integrate 2-D and 3-D as needed.

But Linden Lab seems to be making these goals more explicit, which is good. (TW)
