People who know me know of my love of books. At the end of a trade show my colleagues would go to a bar, while I would find a bookstore. So this post by David Weinberger, author of Everything is Miscellaneous, on the future of the book is of interest. It is a report of a discussion on the topic at Harvard University.
The discussion started with a history of information overload, something that people have worried about since the invention of the printing press. This was followed by a discussion of how young people born in the digital age view books. Mostly they expect everything to be digital even if it is print. (GW)
