Training others on things you know next to nothing about…by not ‘training’

by Janet Clarey on April 9, 2009

Wendy Wickham gives a great example of ‘the model’ approach Clark Quinn recently wrote about. The idea is to think less about ‘training’ and think more about job aids. And, at the same time, serve less as a trainer and more of a consultant. Looking at Wendy’s timeline, it seems it worked pretty well.

7:00 AM email…”training is occurring at 4:15pm that day”…

We probably don’t see as much of this ‘real day-in-the life’ type stuff. Thanks Wendy! (JC)
