Open Learning

by Janet Clarey on March 30, 2009

Jeanne Meister wonders how open learning will impact corporate universities. She writes about iTunes U and Australian students getting transferable university credits (at no cost) for watching lectures on YouTube and handing in work assignments. And another post, by Tom the “Explainist” notes entire courses not available from Berkeley, Harvard, MIT, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale (See YouTube EDU channel). Perhaps a bright spot on the horizon for those with college tuition in their future. Meanwhile, I weep at my empty purse while seriously wonder about the potential loss of the social experience of college. (JC)
