Google and Sony are partnering in the hope of slowing the adoption of Amazon’s e-book reader, the Kindle. Owners of Sony’s eReader can now access 600,000 books archived by Google Books. But, almost all of these are titles that were written decades ago.
Amazon presently offers 240,000 titles to Kindle users. Although a significantly smaller amount, Amazon provides access to new titles including best sellers.
One benefit of e-book readers is the ability to carry a lot of information in one small device. But, are we going to need to lug around multiple devices depending on what we want to read? (RN)

Richard, I’m tired of carrying multiple devices but in the case of e-books I can understand that there is some merit to following the format (size of a book) and special screen characterics required for long periods of reading. Wonder if these e-books also support audio (mp3) and web browsing? That would at least limit some of the devices I travel with.
