Terms you should know: Cloud Computing

Tech Crunch posts several videos about cloud computing. If you’re in workplace learning, why does cloud computing matter? I think because it’s the new place and space for all those things that make up workplace learning. It’s a topic well worth exploring even if you now manage everything primarily within one system. I like this, from FriendFeed co-founder Paul Buchheit…

“…consumers don’t care where all the data and applications are stored, but that applications on different cloud platforms nevertheless have to be able to seamlessly interact with each other.”

Your learners are your consumers and I think we’d all love to see all that performance support seamlessly interact. This could be a good topic to discuss over lunch or a meeting with your IT dept. (JC)
