A very nice, sober, balanced snapshot of the current state of immersive learning in the workplace.
The gist is that the driving force is the promise of engagement and fidelity through immersiveness.
And the restraining forces are the perception of games as frivolous and the concern about costs.
But there’s definitely early adoption going on.

I recently ran across a reference in a job posting to “fidelity analysis” but I am not exactly sure what that means. I have been unable to locate any reference to that particular term and I’m not sure how it differs from needs analysis. Can someone explain that term for me or point me in a direction where I can do further research?
Thanks.
Fidelity analysis is determining how close a simulation needs to be to reality to be effective for learning.

A possible example: In real life, when driving a car you need to learn to look around you at least 180 degrees. But would a driving simulator need to let you look around you 180 degrees to be effective for learning?
Thanks Tom!
That explanation is exactly what I was looking for.
