Using Twitter in the Enterprise

by Gary Woodill on February 25, 2009

twitter1In a resourceful post Luis Suarez points to several excellent articles on the use of Twitter, and the possibility of “Twitter fatigue.” He especially recommends the in-depth presentation by Ed Yourdon on “Using Twitter in the Enterprise” which is available as a slide set in Adobe Acrobat or in SlideShare.

Ed Yourdon’s presentation covers the basics of Web 2.0 technologies, including the use of programming tools and APIs, microblogging with Twitter and Dopplr, and business strategies to make it all work for your business processes. Processes covered are software development, project management, and process improvement. Lots of meat on this bone to chew on… (GW)

Hi Gary! Many thanks for the link love and for helping spread Ed’s preso. I agree with you it is a very solid piece of work and surely hope plenty more folks gets exposed to it. Good stuff!

W.r.t. your insights about perhaps entering what I mentioned as “Twitter fatigue”, I must say that I’m pretty ok so far. I think the more publicity we can get around social software, the better. I am just starting to notice how plenty of folks are having enough, specially with the specific coverage of celebrities making use of Twitter. That should be interesting, i.e. to see how long they stick around before they move to the next shiny thing. heh Time will tell. Thanks again for the lovely post!
