Will Marketing Kill Twitter as a Learning Tool?

by Richard Nantel on February 12, 2009

E-mail tools allowing spammers to send messages to hundreds of thousands of people at the push of a button have been around for years. Similar tools are now becoming available for Twitter.  The result is that:

“Twitter seems to be changing from a fun way to connect and share into a promotional tool. ”

At least with Twitter, we can unfollow the spammers. With e-mail, we have no control over who contacts us. (RN)

Richard-

I agree with you. The power to unfollow matched up with the abiltity to use tools like twitterhawk to compartmentalize your views on twitter make it much easier to control marketing messages than email!
