The big buzz in e-learning is social media – the social, networked, connected 2.0 factor. You rarely hear someone getting pumped about using PowerPoint for e-learning. But, the truth is, PowerPoint is still the dominant tool for designing corporate-learning. Tom Kuhlmann at Articulate says if you can get over the PowerPoint stigma and think in layers and not linear, you can improve your design skills. I’m sure that’s the case but still can’t help but think we’ve gotta move on a bit. The more I connect and network online, the more I cringe at the thought of one-screen, one-slide content. And, it’s not just e-learning. I’m feeling the same way about my research. Still, dissecting good examples is useful. (JC)
