Kevin Kelly wrote a couple of years ago that:
“The fastest increasing quantity on this planet is the amount of information we are generating. It is (and has been) expanding faster than anything else we create or can measure over the scale of decades.”
Visualization is playing an increasingly important role as we attempt to deal with all this information.
The Boston Herald yesterday profiled Angela Shen-Hsieh, a former architect and fashion designer, who is now at the helm of a visualization software company called Visual i|o.
The challenge Ms. Shen-Hsieh is attempting to address is that:
“Particularly in a big company, you have this sensation of a fire hose of data but then there’s only of trickle of knowledge or wisdom coming out of that data.”
Expect to see more software companies like Visual i|o join the visualization movement. (RN)
