by Richard Nantel on June 1, 2010

Prolific blogger Donald Clark shares and discusses 10 techniques to increase retention through spaced practice sessions:

  • Self- rehearsal
  • Take notes
  • Blogging
  • Repetition
  • Delayed assessment
  • Record
  • Games pedagogy
  • Spaced e-learning
  • Mobile technology
  • Less long holidays

Focusing on retention, says Mr. Clark, is “the single most effective strategic change we could make to our learning interventions.” (RN)

Great list of strategies to increase retention through spaced practice sessions. I’ve worked in the corporate community for some time and have recently turned my attention to student learning. I’ll follow with a blog on this same subject with increasing student retention. Thanks for the inspiration!
