Publicizing Your Award

Many organizations want to issue a press release about winning a medal in the Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards. If you intend to issue a press release, please follow these guidelines.

We also provide a press release template in Microsoft Word format (zipped) you can download and modify.

Our intention is to ensure that all information about the Awards program is as accurate as possible.

Guidelines for Your Press Release
  • Hyperbole: Please avoid hyperbole or stretching the truth when describing the award. Please do not say that an entry was rated "best," "top," or "number one."
  • Specificity: Please state the specific award level that you won. Please state that you won a "Gold," "Silver," or "Bronze" award rather than just stating that you won a Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Award.
  • Logo usage: Please do not use the awards program logo or the Brandon Hall Research logo. If you wish to include a logo in your press release, please use the specific awards medal (Gold, Silver, or Bronze) logo (see below). The awards medal logo you are provided with may be used both for print and the Web.
  • Judge anonymity: Please do not include judges’ comments about your entry in your press release. All entries will receive the judges’ comments for purposes of feedback. The judges' names will not be attached to the comments, and the judges have not given permission for their feedback to be made public.
  • Template: Please feel free to use the press release template to assist you in creating your release.
  • Web site guidelines: The same guidelines apply to information posted on your external or internal Web site. You can include a link on your site to the Brandon Hall Research home page: http://www.brandon-hall.com.
